Megan Humphrey

Megan Humphrey has spent her life working in a variety of ways with older adults, starting when she was 12 years old and volunteered at a nursing home. She graduated with a degree in Social Work, specializing in Gerontology, and has worked at Cathedral Square, Champlain Senior Center, Foster Grandparent Program, United Way, and a number of other organizations where she offered program development, marketing and social media, customer service, graphic design, fundraising and grant writing, and human resources.

Megan founded and was Executive Director of HANDS for 25 years, a nonprofit whose mission is to get healthy food to older adults who struggle with food insecurity. Veterans have consistently been a HANDS priority due to higher rates of homelessness, hunger, mental health struggles, and addiction among vets. She is honored to lend a hand to Vets Town Halls and is grateful to Kristen Eaton, Jon Turner, Sebastian Junger, and so many others for creating and expanding opportunities for all of us to hear veterans’ stories.

A note from Kristen, Vets Town Hall’s Deputy Director: Megan Humphrey has generously photographed many of Vermont’s Vets Town Halls since our second year in 2018. Many of the event photos that you see on this website and in our press and publicity materials are Megan’s. Megan’s photography plays an integral role in our ability to communicate to the public what Vets Town Halls are, and why folks should come.
